This is the third Alex’s Lemonade event that I have attended! The amazing thing about it is that the first one I went to was when I was a line cook and went as the copilot to Michael Cimarusti back in 2012. This year I got to go as a sponsor and not only cook with my friends and chefs but also get to be there and fully support this charity.
I stuffed my face at Bang Bang pie, I had an amazing time running around the event cooking with Jon & Vinny from Animal, Sean Brock from Husk and Matt Molina from Mozza restaurant.
It’s amazing to do these events because you see all these people get together to have a party but at the end of the day it’s actually for an amazing and really great cause.
They raised over $200,000 that night, and every chef was wearing Hedley and Bennett. Paul Kahan, who is one of the greatest and sweetest chefs that I know, threw the event with his partner Donnie and they really did such an amazing job.
Chicago was super beautiful and I ran around and ate burgers. I went to The Girl and The Goat and got to see so many delicious places. The food is so good, the weather was so good, and everything was so good!!
